Personally, sometimes I have trouble in forums figuring out who's being sarcastic or voicing in the contrary to try to make a point. The limitations of text can bewilder me sometimes.
Some people very firmly believe that any government need be kept to a bare minimum, whatever the issue. Not sure though why signs are an issue though. I hope the original poster clarifies.

If you knew what you were talking about at all you would know that the changes made were mostly for clarification of the ALREADY existing ordinance and that it WILL NOT AFFECT ALREADY EXISTING BUSINESSES. AND in addition, the ordinance meets the retail standard, so no, the City is not screwing anyone over in any way at all. Also, we have to comply with STATE statutes and the International Building Code.
The dissemination of misinformation is ridiculous.
And you are still allowed to post garage sale signs.

Quit going ad hominum Tammy. make a point without insulting people. Is that what we have to look forward to your council tenure? a continuation of the Criner insult-a-thon?
the ordinance further restricts businesses. that's anti-freedom. it has nothing to do with the building code or state statutes.
are you anti-freedom? pro government nanny state?

Don't insult peoples' intelligence by misstating facts.
It does not restrict existing businesses.
It's not any different than any city in the country. Every city has sign ordinances.
Freedom? BS. Every business has the freedom to erect a sign so long as they comply with the rules. No one has the freedom to run amok and do whatever they want.
