maybe firing a sharp 25 year city attorney and replacing her with a NO EXPERIENCE crony wasn't such a smart idea?

Now the city gets to pay for an expensive outside attorney at $250 an hour to clean up the mistakes?

good government?

IT'S A TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY I AGREE. SINCE THE SCHOOL IS GOING TO CALL THE EVENT CENTER HOME, LET THEM PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE!!!

I'll tell you what's a waste of money. Lawsuits. Now, the taxpayers are footing the bill to defend against a lawsuit that may or may not have merit.

And Rick, what the heck do you think the school operates off? Tax money. So, the source of the money would end up coming from the same place. Taxpayers.

LISTEN MY POINT IS THEY ALREADY HAVE 99MILLION IN BOND MONEY, IN MY OPINION THEY WASTED A BIG CHUNK OF THAT ON THE TURF, WHEN THEY COULD HAVE BUILT A NICE GYM OF THEIR OWN. I KNOW WHERE THE MONEY COMES FROM, AND AS FOR THE LAWSUIT GO MR. BERRY.

I forget how much the turf cost, but I doubt that it would have saved enough to build a new field house. But we do agree on something. I think the turf was a complete waste.

And the lawsuit...if it has merit, I'm fine with it. A bit off subject, yet not....I wonder how many lawsuits Mr. Berry has filed over the years against the City of Enid?

As much as people complained about the turf and stadium renovations in the bond issue, do you think Enid voters would pony up for a basketball arena?

Well, Rick, I guess you could say that because the $20 million will be from taxes already paid. But, it won't be additional taxes. The voters have not voted to tax themselves additionally for a basketball arena.

YOUR RIGHT I UNDERSTAND THAT. IT'S JUST THAT IT IS AN EVENT CENTER, NOT THE HOME COURT OF ENID HIGH BASKETBALL.I BELIVE THAT THE COE KNEW THIS FROM THE BEGINING AND WERE NOT TRUTHFULL ABOUT IT. FROM THE SOUND OF IT THE CITY IS BUILDING THE EVENT CENTER FOR THE SCHOOL, THAT'S MY PROBLEM.

They are building the events center to be an events center and they have never covered up or hidden any of their plans. They had PUBLIC FORUMS on the plans, for crying out loud? Were you at any of those? Are you aware they're online so those of you that never actually leave your holes can even look at them?

Thank you for answering that. I was genuinely curious and wasn't trying to be a jerk about it like some people are. But I am curious if that also includes companies or other entities that he might be apart of or own?

Why would the city NOT allow the schools to use it? The CoE and EPS work pretty well together from what I gather. And I'm sure there is going to be a usage fee, so it will generate revenue. I could be wrong about that.

I'll put it this way, I can't speak of the 70's, 80's, or 90's. Because I wasn't really paying attention.

But since 2002 it's 2.
