Sooner1 - it may have been before your time, but pretty sure when Salt was correcting the spelling there, he was referring to a television series he probably watched back in the day and basing his corrections on that. I, myself, remember the series, but no, I'm not as old as he is! LOL

Of course, I could be wrong and he could've been referring to something else altogether!

I personally know of a registered sex offender who has found a way to live close to a school without using the address. He keeps all of his personal stuff at a relatives house and only has the clothes on his back at the house he really lives at, the one he and his girlfriend share. Pretty neat, huh? I wonder how many other registered sex offenders employ this same type of method to get around the law.

Now i'm not perfect about spelling in most forums or uses depending about time constraints but it is important. Anyone who says its not either illiterate, in-bred, or really just basically stupid. But given the usual discussion of this forum we are not exactly drafting a bill of succession to china or anything so I think given the area his either time constrained or small mind can be written off as forum laziness

First off, the person in question has a long history on this board. Those posts are the norm. It's like reading phonetically with him sometimes. People get tired of it. We've all complained about it at one time or another. It was a running joke. Hell, he was a joke. Still is. And I agree. This is a casual forum and grammar doesn't have to perfect. After all, nobody is perfect.

Second off, and I mean this in all sincerity, **** you. Drawing assumptions about someone's intelligence or grades based on something like that is ignorant. I'll happily supply my high school and college transcript to prove that I did not make low marks in English.

Simply put it was a basis of psychological belief if you ask anyone else who knows psychology even minimally past Freud a Jung you realize they would say the same thing. I'll be the first to mention I am no saint in the spelling department given my previous posts but I keep at least a self-conscious effort to avoid some at least blaring problems. The big red squiggly line helps even for someone doped up on pain killers like me.

And I will be the first one to admit that this contradicts in a way what I said before: Marks aren't always the judgement of someones retaining of the spelling or grammar of said words. Nor does it show their retaining of said information after years from being in a learning environment. That is exposed after years removed from that environment. Trust me how I was in BMT is by no means who I am today, physical problems aside. You very well could have done exceptional. I did to. I also slept every day in almost every class(high school and the chunk of time in college before my life decisions moved me to where what I was studying wouldn't be needed.

I am, soon to be was, an air force age mechanic. I don't need to know the intricacies of the human mind to repair a diesel, hydraulic, or blah blah motor) , did my home work assignments usually in 1/10th the time of my classmates, worked 3 jobs(though one was a call as they needed weekend job) but equaled full time hours and during High school did the full day program to get as much of it as I could given lack of time there of afterwards, and lets face it we learn the intricacies of human interaction from High school. Now not all if we are smart just the building blocks. we know the stories of nerds becoming butterflies and such. but digression aside with all that inability to devote an abundance of time to said tasks I did well, was by no means a suck up, and even laughed when I was given a position in the Honor Roll finding it a sarcastic joke of the school system to include the person who sleeps in class all day in it. I know hold most things besides casual forums(for those that I thoroughly scan before hand for hints of the expectations of the normal contributors) and Online games(because when your little dudes dying who cares you spell you or u etc, and please no sexual innuendos for that considering I can think of 4 right now as i type it). But it was simply an at a glance assessment to really just get your feathers ruffled since you decided to attack someone who was upholding someone to a higher usage of the English language in all its forms.

If we hold signs about others learning our language when they come to us grumble and complain we really should see the hypocrisy in it. It truly is laughable that we are holding Immigrants (blanket word I shall not distinguish which or what) to learn our language. and really. Resorting to a four letter word to show your distaste for my quick assessment of you is a little low on the IQ totem pole. Please insult me with worse I actually would like to look up a insult rather than roll my eyes and lower my opinion of someone after a measly 2-3 sentence statement to that of gun toting, bear drinking, man from the sticks who thinks that gays and any other races are abominations.

I honestly do not know what to think of you. At times, your posts are eloquent and full of points that make sense. Then other times, they seem to be the rant of a lunatic. And I would also like to point out that while I do tote a gun, and drink BEER, I'm not from the sticks and do not think that gays and people of other races are abominations. Quite the opposite in fact. In fact, that entire statement confuses me because well, quite frankly you confuse me.

In my humble opinion, their priorities are really lacking and their sense of ethics has come into question more times than can be recounted here.
