I have decided to stay here because my children live and work here. The law for mowing your yard is the grass and weeds canot excede 18 inches. Is that correct?

As for the parking in the yard - it's an ordinance and it's a common one in most cities. About 5 years ago Enid was a mess. It's still a mess in some areas but everyone has to admit it's cleaned up a LOT and it's because of ordinances like that one. Cleaning up a city is a slow process and sometimes it makes people unhappy. I don't agree with all the rules on it, either, but they are for the greater good of the community. (And I appreciate the nice words.)

Thanks for your reply. And for the grass and weeds I was just trying to get someone to reply. I take alot of time and effort on my yard. I like for it to look good and have nice plants in it as well as the grass. I have A private well so it gets plenty of water. We just spent A small fortune putting in an all new privacy fence around our back yard. We work hard to be good neighbors. The car deal just really got on my nerves because of our little narrow street. It is driven every day and was alot safer for people driving by than now. Anyway thanks for your reply.

The way to improve Enid is for the so called middle class working people to stand up for what we know is good. Remember without us they would have nothing. Think about it.

Here is A way to help Enid. Find jobs or create jobs for the 200 plus people who are not going to have one in 60 days.

A damn shame to have given all that loot to an outside of Enid company.
I am not saying they didn't help the town in some short term direction, but they could have developed a lab for the local genius inventors who have patents .
Could have been factories or plants developing locally made products for local jobs.

If I understand it, the people who work there can move to another location and keep their jobs. If their work and attendence records are good. That won't be good for Enid if they go for all kinds of reasons.

Tammy can you check this out?
There are plans to have about 600 of these vertical farms erected across the earth by 2014.

Here is the online application for any city that is interested in Vertical Farming.
Enid can learn some valuable lessons from this technology.

I was off on the inches - I think it's more than that but I don't remember right off what it is. That's in regard to yards.

I'll agree that more in the middle class need to take action, but I believe all of the classes need to become more involved. As for the city manager, the mayor and the council, I believe they have done a tremendous job trying to do what's best for the city. The downtown expansion is great, the sale of the old homeland building was brilliant, the destruction even today of three old houses on Garriott shows they are taking the necessary steps to make our city more attractive. I wish more people would actually do something, rather than simply sit back and complain. Ever been to a study session or a city council meeting? Very minimal participation from the general public. That being said, you can't go anywhere in this town without people complaining about its leadership. The apathy is simply pathetic.
