I don't have a good explanation. Maybe the firing of Wade Phillips kicked them in the ass. They might have realized that their crappy performance cost him a job. Jason Garrett probably gave them all kinds of good speeches throughout the week to help motivate them.

The thing is, was Wade Phillips really the problem? All of his assistants got to keep their jobs right? Those are the guys that are coaching and actually interacting with the players. I've always thought that if you want change, fire the whole group (offense or defense). But then, I would have never fired Wade Phillips in mid-season. Hell, I would have probably never hired him to begin with.

Not many Sooner fans like Jimmy Johnson. But I do. I have no doubt that he is a very, very smart man. I enjoyed watching him on Survivor this season because it gave me a whole different perspective on Jimmy.
