Sorry, i thought i posted that before. I just experienced Joey and many other refs just eyeballing players and staring them down until they made could justify blowing the whistle. I am a regular at NBA games 50 times a year.

Lately i am seeing a lot of punches to the groin area and when a jump shooter goes up the defender places his foot under the shooter and when the shooter lands on it most often they twist their ankle. This is the method made famous by Bruce Bowden of the Spurs. There is a list of videos on youtube of all of his ugly deeds.

That's bad that the players would intentionally hurt each other, but sadly has been a part of the game on all levels for a long time.
