So long as it ends in the fall. People always associate spring and baseball. But I also think of the World Series. Even though, I haven't watched a full game of baseball on tv in many years, I still love the sport. Its just so much better to watch live at the park.
Shorter seasons...what else would you change?

During a game if the batter accidently tosses the bat into the stands, $100,000 fine. If he accidently does it again in the same game he's ejected from the game.
U never threw the bat in the grandstands and never did i. Mostly because we put both of our hands above the knob at the bottom of the bat.
I have seen the same batter do it twice during the same at bat and even though he threw the bat in the same section twice only one person was carried out on a stretcher. This guy will have a great shot at the Hall of Fame.
Most times the reason for throwing the bat is that they grip it below the knob on the bat to get more whip in their swing. imo

And how about not charging season ticket holders full price for meaningless preseason games. They can't give those seats away cause the scrubs who may not even make the team are playing 3/4ths of the game.
What professional sport league demands payment from season ticket holders for next years season tickets, even before this years season reaches the All Star game?

I agree with the charging thing. I actually think that most preseason games should be played in minor league cities.
I also think the preseason thing goes on too long in all sports. I like the NFL owner's idea of taking two games away from the preseason and adding them to the schedule.
I'd like to see a time limit enforced between pitches. Both batter and pitcher are dragging the game out. The batter should be in the box and the pitcher on the damn mound. When I played, I never left the batter's box. That was my space. Practice swings are for the on deck circle. If a batter was in violation of the time limit, its a strike. If the pitcher is in violation, its a ball.

In the preseason and in the All Star games most everyone plays not to get injured. And that is a dangerous way to play.
As for the time limit most of it is getting comfortable in the box or head games from both the pitcher and batter. Look at it this way; baseball is a sport where you can involve the entire family. No TVs, no drive by shootings, no bad news, no stray dogs eating your expensive plants...just a family sitting together looking out at a huge perfect grass field where men hit and toss hardballs around. In this escape from reality you can bond with the kids and also have your suds. All this and no time limit, wonderful. And your kids will never forget it!!!!
