If so, the military needs to educate service members about the service members of other nations in other conflicts and what was so very wrong with so much of what they did in the name of duty.

I think it's quite possible that these kids didn't know what the symbols stand for. I've talked to young people that thought the Civil War was in the 1920's.

On the other hand...I have a neighbor that sports a Nazi helmet and Swastika when he rides his motorcycle. I see a lot of folks STILL flying the Confederate war flag(as a protest against racial tolerance, redneck rambunctiousness and anti-political correctness). Maybe the soldier that bought the flag was just going for the "tough" look?

Americans simply must wise up. Ignorance and stupidy will destroy us. Our government was designed to be controled and guided by "the people." Half those people don't bother to have their say. And, at least half those who do are so missinformed they do more harm than good.

OTOH this is a true story: I had a white male student who said in class in front of a room composed of about 50/50 black/white kids that the KKK was formed to do good charitable work for poor black people and he offered a photograph of sheeted KKKers on the porch with 2 elderly black people and the KKK was giving them a basket of food. Masked, of course, b/c they didn't want their identities known for their good deeds.

These Marines are members of a sniper team. Those that videoed themselves urinating on the dead bodies of "bad guys" they had taken out were also members of a sniper team.

These guys do some serious killing. It's their job. And, many of them have done several tours of duty in this conflict that has drug on for a decade.

Few humans can be immersed in that sort of an environment on and on without experienciing some definate psychological effects.

Mybe they didn't know. Or, maybe they did know.

This is one reason our nation should never enter a conflict without the intention of going at it full force and getting it over and done with as quickly as posible.
