I don't pay much attention to what any politico says. Cuba is a privately owned island nation, owned and operated by the Castro FAMILY, the population are their slaves. The fact that the Left has idolized this despot for decades, is evidence of how perverted the Left is...hollywood fatcats making pilgrimages to grovel at Catro's feet, Castro's serial kller enforcer Che on their t-shirts and pics hanging in their offices...bah.

The only good thing for the captive population of Cuba is, that when the world economy crashes...they probably won't notice any change at all.

I just gotta ask what Hollywood fatcats made pilgrimages to grovel at Castro's feet? I know I am probably opening a Pandora's box of Celtic weirdness.

And none of my libbie friends idolize Castro, but we sure as heck didn't like Batista.

Articles from three sources on the pilgrimages of Leftwads to Fidel Castro:

<a href="http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/2409325.stm%5B/url%5D" target="_blank">http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/ent...nt/2409325.stm

Quote from this one:

"President Fidel Castro chatted to Spielberg for eight hours"

LOL Eight hours with a murderous repressive pig who owns all the souls on "his" island...disgusting.

Quote from this one:
quote:
"Rep. Laura Richardson, D-Calif., who also met Fidel Castro with Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Ill., said Castro “looked directly into our eyes” and asked how Cuba could help President Barack Obama in his efforts to change the course of U.S. foreign policy."

LOL Oh! Gosh! He LOOKED right into her eyes! Well, drop everything, just give the bloody little dictator anything he wants...He LOOKED HER IN THE EYES....I bet she nearly swooned...

Quote of quotes from this article:

quote:
Fidel Castro is a genius!" gushed Jack Nicholson after a visit with the Cuban Führer in 1998. "We spoke about everything," the actor rhapsodized further. "Castro is a humanist like President Clinton. Cuba is simply a paradise!" Jack Nicholson has been saying such things for years now. Many of his Hollywood cohorts follow suit.

"Socialism works. I think Cuba might prove that" (Chevy Chase).

"Castro is very selfless and moral, one of the world's wisest men" (Oliver Stone).

"If you believe in freedom, if you believe in justice, if you believe in democracy, you have no choice but to support Fidel Castro!" (Harry Belafonte).

"It was an experience of a lifetime to sit only a few feet away from him (Castro)" Kevin Costner.

"The eight most important hours of my life," Stephen Spielberg describing his dinner with Castro.

Bah, add all this to the Che posters during the last election, and it makes you wanna gag... The American Left is repulsive...

This is an article about US POLITICIANS who visited Castro to discuss foreign policy. As you know, President Obama changed foreign policy to allow Cuban US Citizens to visit their family in Cuba. This does not qualify as "Hollywood fatcats groveling".

http://www.americanthinker.com...wood_love_fidel.html I don't believe anything American Thinker publishes. American Thinker believes anything Bill O'Reilly puts on his show.

Wow...it didn't take long to find a long list of Hollywood elite who regularly praise Castro and Chavez. Hollywood is full of artist savants, who are dreadfully stupid at everything else...especially politics...

The Screen Actors Guild (SAG) is an American labor union representing over 200,000 film and television principal performers and background performers worldwide.

That's not gonna get a president elected, kenny. And if you are really watching many of them are in complete disagreement with some of the most outspoken members of SAG.

Yep, given our choices. Pickin' a president is like bobbin' for apples. You never know how good they are until you sink you teeth into one. And then it may be too late!
And lately the pickins have been slim.

Che is the Cuban version of William Wallace. People fighting for their freedom. Russianism didn't help Cuba but they aren't the Axis of Evil either. I know a guy that travels there frequntly and loves the people.

WE screwed Cuba over, not the other way around. Maybe that's why a CUBAN Hispanic can be American after coming here illegally(as long as they make it ashore) but Mexicans are indiscriminantly shot by our military special ops units like they're not human.

If THAT'S not reason enough to abandon this silly conservative act, I don't know what is! Lack of change can bring stagnation! Right to life means nothing if you support this.

Put up a wall instead of an open window that may or may not be an invitation while oil companies send busses to Mexico to bring'em IN!

If Romney thinks sending Castro to the nether regions is the way to eliminate that island of Communism, he has no faith in Free Enterprise. End the embargo and send them Coca Cola, Walmart, McDonald's, Levis, and Harley Davidson. Look what that did in China.

It's been several years since I read/watched anything on Che Guevara. The Leftists have romanticized him, but in reality he was just a cold-blooded murderer.

I believe he was originally from Argentina. He fought for Castro, and carried out many, if not most, of his executions for him. He murdered men and boys. I read somewhere that when he was finally caught, that he cried like a little baby when it was his time to face the firing squad.

He's waiting in one of the hottest spots in hell for his dear leader to arrive and join him, I'm sure.

Why does "he looked into her eyes" elicit such a response from you? Why weren't you going apedoodie when Bush kissed the Saudis on the mouth?

You do understand that Cuba has nothing to pressure any country with, no oil, no mineral deposits, nothing, while the OPEC nations keep the West in thrall?

So why are you so verklempt over Cuba & a dying Castro & Che Guevara? They are non-players on the world stage. PS Che is dead, that's D-E-A-D. Finito. Kaput. Bought the farm. Kicked the bucket. Took the dirt nap.

Incidentally, while you can't understand this, I put it out for other readers: Under Batista, Cuba was a country of the haves vs. the have-nots, life for the poor was hideous. Under Castro, life for (most) of the poor improved tremendously. If you don't like Castro & Communism, then you ought to blame the capitalist conservatives that promoted vast wealth inequality, because in those kinds of conditions, revolution is inevitable.

Revolutionaries have to get their hands dirty and the work is far from politically correct. Besides the romanticized version of Wallace, I've read a few accounts of him and everything says that he was a bloodthirsty brute who didn't bestow pity on his victims at all.

Romney, the dog abuser, doesn't get his hands dirty at all. He has people for that!

Guevera started out an adeventurer. As he traveled South America and saw people living in abject poverty while working for foriegn corporations, many of them American, he became more and more convinced that communism was the cure. Or, at least, he came to despise capitalism for the human misery he saw everywhere.

The same thing was going on in Cuba. Most industry in cuba was owned and controled by U.S. corporations. When Castro took control, they wanted reembursement for thier lost sugar plantations, etc. Castro prety much told them to go to hell.

I think that is why Cuba has been such an irritant to America for so long.

And, yes, the more blood Che shed, the more he seemed to like it.

Or,at lest, the less it seemed to bother him. That can happen in war.

Smedely Butler:

"I spent 33 years and four months in active military service and during that period I spent most of my time as a high class muscle man for Big Business, for Wall Street and the bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism. I helped make Mexico and especially Tampico safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefit of Wall Street. I helped purify Nicaragua for the International Banking House of Brown Brothers in 1902-1912. I brought light to the Dominican Republic for the American sugar interests in 1916. I helped make Honduras right for the American fruit companies in 1903. In China in 1927 I helped see to it that Standard Oil went on its way unmolested. Looking back on it, I might have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents."

Folks, you really need to look at both sides of the foriegn policy issue.
