http://www.foxnews.com/politic...l-decision-could-be/ We can't have abortion, we can't have prevention. What's left??? We have seen evidence in recent years of what happens when religious practitioners are not allowed to have sex. Hey Diddle Diddle... Of course, the conservatives are jumping on the bandwagon too. Obama is FORCING them to buy insurance with birth control included? Just don't buy it!

i am catholic.... and back in the day,, or even now..??? a large family produced a nun or a priest for the church.. grunts....they lived on handouts from their parish's. while the brass dined on steak and lobster....a large family also ment that in the future,,,the brass,,could always count on dining on steak and lobster.bigger the family,, the more money for the church. if birth control was used then family's would get smaller,, and the pope and the rest of the brass,, might have to start eating canned tuna, and hamburgers. ya see.

Not sure if this would fall into the "Render unto Caesar that which is Caesar's" catagory or not. The time has come for each Christian to have to make the choice/decision on if they are going to obey the Beast or obey God. The Catholics have danced with the devil for years, supporting revolutionary types and liberal agendas in areas of illegals and such, not excommunicating evildoers just because they were rich, and hiding the pedophiles in their ranks, so I don't know how they will deal with this issue. As for the fact that the government is now getting into the business of telling some religions how they have to believe now and practice their faith in their lives now, and pushing things down their throat they know is against their conscience, is a breach of seperation of church and state. Of course, I expect nothing less from this administration and gov. from now on. Their communism is showing! "Choose ye this day whom ye shall serve... as for me and my house I will serve the LORD."

When religious groups have the power to control the government's actions, THAT'S not separation either. Mitt, Newt and USA Today are just sucking up to the anti-Obama crowd for votes, NOT looking for actual justice or clear headed decision making. We have enough unwanted kids already. Stop making more. If Catholic run companies don't want their employees using contraception, they need to hire obedient Catholic women. This is just more of the male dominated world telling women what they can do with their own bodies and they're doing it under the guise of "religious freedom". I, for one, have had QUITE ENOUGH of religious practitioners trying to control the rest of the world!

i am pro life,, but i believe strongly on birth control... and the morning after pill.also i believe that it is the respocibility of both male and female to use birth control. the catholic church will have to restructure their whole american system,, if birth control becomes mandatory. i don't think any government should stick their nose into private family matters,, or churches for that matter. the catholic church uses mortal sin and guilt to control their church members. back when,, catholic women had hysterectomies all the time... they often looked forward to having one.. just so they could have sex without getting pregnant. now catholic women are using birth control...and you don't hear of too many women having hysterectomies. my aunt told me once,, that the reason women were expected to bend and bow to the men,,(catholic) was because,,, jesus was a man.

If women want healthcare coverage that includes birth control, they should go to work for a secular business and not a Catholic charity.

If we had national health insurance plans that people could purchase regardless of where they worked, it would solve the problem.

Sorry...I didn't see where the piece specifically called the businesses "charities". If we allow certain businesses to skirt the equal employment laws or deny federally sanctioned benefits to their employees because they happen to believe in a spiritual deity AND it's rules, is that not crooked and damned unfair. If it makes the churches feel better, they DO get a real nice break from Uncle Sam regarding property taxes. The least they could do is follow the laws of man(just like the Bible teaches. Theirs too!). The Vatican can perch and twirl. A gold braided, velvet draped Mafia of sorts that seeks to control it's parishes with an iron fist. When they make a female Pope, I'll listen to their argument regarding women's rights over her own body and their/her choice to make a new life! I could show you a scar that I got for simply questioning the transsubstanciation of the host. I was 8. Perhaps I'm a bit biased on the matter? Since we can't prevent them or snuff'em and they STILL manage to happen, maybe we should build an Ark and load'em up and send'em to Rome.

Where'd the posts go? LOL Okay back to preggers issue: implantation is the definition of pregnancy and the Catholic church used to believe that there wasn't a baby until it "quickened" or moved. Before then it was not considered alive nor the woman considered pregnant. But birth control for women is such a fundamental issue that IMO all health insurance providers ought to provide it. I started thinking tonight about the other religious groups that don't allow blood transfusions and would they be allowed to run a hospital, hire employees, and turn around and say "no blood transfusion will be offered through any of our health insurance plans?" I think it's the same argument and basically I think if you run a hospital, even if it is a charitable hospital, and you hire employees and provide benefits, you should be required to offer health insurance that covers birth control. but this would be moot if there were national health insurance and everyone were covered the same regardless of where you worked.
