I guess some have learned that it is a reproductive organ...not a clown car!

I do not understand why there is any controversy. After all, just because the insurance policy covers contraception does not mean that an individual has to use it. The Catholic run organizations are not necessarily staffed by Catholic workers, in fact, many of the workers in these organizations are of other religions. As Glit mentioned above, most of the Catholics I am acquainted with use contraception regardless of the "mortal sin" tag.

"A new survey by Public Policy Polling shows that a narrow majority of Catholic voters think women employed by Catholic hospitals and universities should have access to contraceptive coverage through their health plans." The Republicans are really fanning the flames about this. It's an "attack on Religious freedom." Yack yack yack. Churches have the right to offer only plans which don't cover reproductive care for employees if they wish. I think it's stupid for them todo so. But, they are allowed to do it. That's not enough control to suite them. They demand to be able to deny such services to employees who work for universities or hospitals or charities associated with curches. Really, folks. Many of those employees aren't there because of their religeous beliefs are as a way to practice their religeous beliefs. They are simply trying to earn an income. And, even if they have insurance coverage for reproductive care, they have the option of forgoing it if they wish. It isn't the government trying to force anything on anyone. If anyone is attempting to be controlling it's the churches. The political right cannot resist pandering to these control freaks hoping to benifit politicaly. Good grief!

The article did not call the "Catholic employers" businesses. They are not for profit organizations.
Those of us who actually read the health care bill realize that the bill gave the Executive Branch full authority to "legislate" the business of health care. The White House's strong stand and mild retreat on this one issue makes it very clear that there are serious constitutional issues in the health care law. I would bet that Vatican lawyers are hard at work on their amicus briefs for the Attorneys General lawsuits.

Interesting to see what flies these days for 'entertainment', disrespecting and attacking one certain religion, all covered by 'free speech' I'm sure. But then, it's not involving one of the protected religions, oh no, that would be completely taboo today... Mock away: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...gTGM&feature=related

What in the sam hill does an exorcism have to do with "Catholic brass upset over birth control?"

Oh, much more than "end times" questions on the "Stand with Arizona" thread... It's clear that society is being groomed to attack Catholics/Christians, and accept it. The gov. is working to force them to do things that is against their teachings... pushing the envelope with medical insurance, testing the waters. The music industry has no problems with Catholics/Christians being demeaned on a national awards show...with characters in the religion's style of dress dancing around, making obscene gestures, and a 'choir' singing a Christmas song with a tune that's warped to sound satanic. Nope, the message is clear, PARTICULARLY when one realizes that THAT sort of mockery would NEVER be allowed of Islam or Buddhism or Judaism today. The timing with the controversy over Catholics/insurance now...uh-huh. The sheeple are being groomed to hate Christians and their beliefs, to belittle them...while other religions are respected and protected.

The issue with birth control/insurance at Catholic hospitals is an example of the End Times? and somehow the exorcism video is proof of this? That's even nuttier than your usual stuff. Yesterday it was how the SS flag was really the KISS flag and today it's how the birth control insurance issue is a sign of the End Times. Yeah okay, maybe go have a cup of tea and rest.
