Once again, I repeat that this comes from the party that boasts it's support of LESSER governmental controls.

Hang'em, shoot'em send 'em to war. Put them on death row. Let'em die from lack of healthcare but.....WHATEVER YOU DO...S-A-V-E T-H-E F-E-T-U-S-E-S

"Whackadoodles" sums it up quite nicely, I think!

It didn't at first, but after researching it a bit, it does now.

As ThinkProgress reported, last year Republicans in South Carolina, Nebraska, and Iowa pushed legislation that would essentially legalize the murder of abortion providers. Such radical sentiments have been echoed by prominent conservatives like Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK), who said during his 2004 campaign, “I favor the death penalty for abortionists.”

Wonder what Tom is planning this time kat.

He doesn't even know of a company that does this but we're supposed to spend time and money enacting a law that prevents A NON EVENT from happening.

I want a ban on flying cows! Can you imagine the damage from an entire herd flying over an elementary school. WHAT ABOUT THE CHILDREN!!!

Celtic...did you read that nobody is actually eating babies? Their genetic material is used to test artificial flavors.

There's a crime against humanity here but it isn't against unformed humans.

Wanna stay safe??? Don't eat products that boast artificial flavors.

We also have an Oklahoma politico that wants to protect us from Public Television. He says the the Saturday night movies that are hosted by B.J. Wexler are racy in nature.

For those of you not familiar with OETA's Movie Night, it's usually black and white flicks with the occasional Woody Allen flick in there too. I've watched a bunch of'em and the stuff they show makes John Wayne westerns look racy.

Just another push by members of the red state to villify public tv. Yeah...you might learn something from NOVA vut we all know that education is evil and liberal.

I've read the articles pertaining to this. AT this time that SEEMS to be all that's going on - using specific cells from aborted babies for testing responses to different substances. As I mention on another thread, we've seen examples of where 'they' take such things much farther than people even dreamed was going on (using dead cows and sheep in cattle and sheep feed leading to Mad Cow Disease prions transferring into the food supply and affecting humans; GMO's secreted into our food supply, and still NOT labled). So, it would appear that things could be much worse than just using a few fetal cells for research (but that's bad enough imho)

Who is doing this? I watch quite a bit of OETA. Some of it's interesting, some of it's entertaining, some of it's boring. I see a lot of politically correct messages being woven into story lines these days on several channels, and OETA would not be high on that list, at least what I watch anyway. When a show gets too outrageous in that dept., I switch channels and find something else.

Big Brother knows how to condition the masses to buy whatever they are selling...

Here's a piece on The Lost Ogle about the Representative that has the issues with Movie Night on OETA...Some of the language in the article is a bit saucy in a couple of spots.

I doesn't surprise me. The GOP Okies have had OETA on their kill list for a long time.

Bunch o' crap aint it. Reagan is their George Washington and they are not comfortable with anything that reminds the public he was not really all that godlike.

When I ran for state Representative in '08, Mike sanders, the Republican that one the seat made a big point of informming the folks arouond that his first born was born on Reagan's birthday. By cessarian no doubt.

My Senate district was redone this year, and there are four Republicans running for the seat. We get mailouts galore and reagan praise abounds in them with one candidate informing us that her first daughter is named Reagan in honor of their hero and features a picture of Ronnie mounted on his truty steed on one side and all her family mounted up on theirs on the other side.

A bit fanatical and cultish in my humble oppinion.

I guess I should call her and ask why she dosen't include Father Ronnie's quote about the Taliban back in the 80's as he was arming them to the teeth to fight the Soviets.

Reagan: “These (Taliban) gentlemen are the moral equivalents of America’s founding fathers.”

That's the problem with today's "conservatives."
They just remember things they like and forget everything else.

Forget history repeat it?

Ronnie was a pretty level headed guy until he met and adopted a rich fatcat as his mentor. While in Hollywood, he fought for human rights and stood against the movie moguls that sought to use the actors without paying them.

After he was re-educated, he started turning in his fellow actors for what HE thought was acting suspiciously. It was the start of the ultra right winger, Commie-buster, Ronnie Rayguns. A few years later, he would be at the helm of one of the bloodiest government takeovers in South American history. I might add that the Iranians got a shipload of nasty weaponry in the arms and money laundering deal. Made in America is hard to find here nowdays but when there's an assassination in some third world country, just look at the shrapnel.

Yeah...the dealmaker GOP'ers like Rummy would REALLY like his fellow Repubs to forget a few things.

Say, RH, can you imagine the public uproar should it ever coome to light that Barack Obama ever made a statement such as Reagan made about the Taliban? If Obama said something like that about some radical Muslim organization the republicans would do their damnedest to lynch him. And, if they got him lynched, they'd resuscitate him so they could then crucify him. Then they'd drag his carcass across America behind a pickup truck and then impeach him posthumously.

He got their dander up enough when he made the statement about this country being a country of many religions instead of just leaving it at Christian nation.

"One of the great strengths of the United States," the President said, "is ... we have a very large Christian population -- we do not consider ourselves a Christian nation or a Jewish nation or a Muslim nation. We consider ourselves a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values."

Of course, I disagree that it takes religion to be able to possess values and ideals but at least he got the truth out. This country is not soley a Christian country anymore than it is a soley white country.
