I was reading an article today about one of the original members of the Electric Light Orchestra being killed in an automobile accident. I had to go to youtube and look up some of their old songs, that I remember from my teenage years. That got me to thinking about all the 'golden oldies' I've enjoyed growing up, and how they don't play most of them on the oldies stations anymore.

Here's one of the first ones I remember likeing. I think it came out when I was about 4 or 5, but I remember I always liked it for some reason. My brother graduated the year I started kindergarten, so I always heard him playing songs on his radio. This was one of my first memories:

Of course I remember that one, but I think my favorite Pet Clark song was "Downtown"...must of heard it a thousand times! Wasn't even sure they still had golden oldie shows anymore...now that I'm retired, I haven't listened to the radio for years...no drive time you know!

You could always catch some great tunes at the skating rink...really good memories! Seems like when Bill Halley and the Comets released "Rock Around the Clock", it changed everything! My joints felt a lot better then too!
