Are they possibly just cool weather plants, Seen2.
A lot of years my bleeding heart goes dormant and dies of for the summer, and then comes up again in the spring. I know other plants do that, too. Perhaps you pussy toes will also.
I just pulled up an article on them that says they are a native wild flower of the North Dakota grasslands. Probably not as long a hot season there!

It said on the tag, full sun and well drained soil. I put them in a container where they have that. My Bleeding Hearts do good all Summer since they are in the shade. They bloom most of the time during the Summer.

My cherry tomatoes rocked this year. Everyone really liked the Chocolate Cherry, but the ILDI (yellow grape) did well, too. I started mine indoors from seed this year, for the first time. I like the varieties you can order, instead of what's in the local stores. I'm getting a decent amount of big tomatoes. I think next year I might do romas instead of large tomatoes, we really don't eat a whole lot of the slicing tomatoes, and I'd like to can some. (i think...lol)
i had more time this year because my hours got cut, don't know about next year. I have 2 4x8 raised beds, and then another garden that is probably about 6x12. So not a huge operation. I tried a lot of different things this year.
